The Wilkes Soil and Water Conservation District is committed to helping our farmers
remain good stewards of the land. We offer many programs to ensure the protection of
our natural resources. One of the programs is the North Carolina Agricultural
Cost Share Program. Along with other conservation programs, it helps to
preserve the natural resources that are so important to all of us.

Share Program
- State funding to help install conservation practices that protect
water quality and help make our land more productive.
- Environmental Quality Incentive
Program (EQIP)
- Federal funding that addresses the improvement of our key
resources: soil, water, animal, plant and air.
- Other Federal Programs
- Included are the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP), Forestry
Incentive Program (FIP), and the Wildlife Habitat Enhancement Program (WHIP).
